Since his early days in South East London, Rodney Earl Clarke has pursued a passion for performance.
After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, his gift was recognised on the nation's grandest of stages: The Queen’s Jubilee Anthem We Thank You From our Hearts and leading the National Anthem at both Twickenham and Lord’s Cricket Ground. He featured on the ITV Singing Show Walk the Line.
From his days as a choirboy at St. George's Cathedral in London to mastering the music of 1930-1960 Broadway, Rodney has showcased his talents in multiple shows such as Carmen Jones, On the Town and The Broadway Sound BBC Prom with the John Wilson Orchestra. He released his debut album Glorious Quest, featured on the World Cup ’98 Pavane BBC album and still works alongside award-winning composers Anthony and Gaynor Sadler in recording projects such as Mantra and Evermore.
He starred in Raymond Gubbay's show Crazy for Gershwin, BBC Radio 2 Friday Night is Music Night and most recently Les Misérables. He performed for HRH Princess Anne at the military musical spectacular The Sword & The Crown on Horse Guards Parade.
Rodney joined the BBC team of TV presenters for the Proms, accompanied by Suzy Klein and has since enjoyed numerous invitations to present. Embracing his life as someone who stutters, Rodney is a patron of STAMMA the British Stammering Association and continues to guide others towards the help they need.
